Find My Setup: the posture check and a best-match result card from ErgonomicLux's free ergonomic assessment

Find My Setup: The Free Tool That Picks Your Ergonomic Setup in About a Minute

Most people shop for ergonomic gear the hard way. Open forty chairs in forty tabs, read specs that describe the product and not your body, guess, and hope. We built Find My Setup to end that. It is a free assessment on our site that looks at how you actually sit and hands you up to three products from our range that fit, each with a plain reason why.

It takes about a minute if you answer the questions, closer to two if you add the optional camera check. There is no sign-up, no email, and nothing to download. This guide explains what it does, how the camera check works, what you get at the end, and what stays private.

Quick answer

Find My Setup asks where you sit, what bothers you at the end of the day, how long you sit and what you want to spend. You can add a short posture check on your own camera. It then scores every product we stock against your answers and shows up to three matches with the reason for each. Tick the pieces that go together and the set is discounted at checkout: 10% for two items, 15% for three, 20% for four or more.

Why We Built It

An office chair and a kneeling chair solve different problems. A memory foam cushion and a gel cushion feel nothing alike. A posture brace helps one person and annoys the next. The right answer depends on where you sit, for how long, what hurts at the end of the day and what you are willing to spend. A product page cannot know any of that. A short conversation can.

So instead of another buying guide, we built the thing a good salesperson would do in a store: ask a few questions, watch how you sit, and point at the two or three products that fit.

How Find My Setup Works

There are three steps and no homework.

1. Tell us how you sit

The first question asks what you want to improve: your desk setup, your car seat, or your posture and body. That picks the path. The rest asks where you sit, what matters most right now, where you feel it at the end of the day, how many hours you sit and your budget. If you want a closer match, a short extra round asks about the kind of product you like, your build and a few habits.

2. We match, we don’t guess

Every product in our range is scored against your answers using the same rules that write the reasons you see. Nothing is hand-picked to push a particular item. If a chair scores well because it supports the lower back and you sit eight hours a day, that is exactly what the result says.

3. Build your setup and save

Your best match comes with the pieces that go with it, such as a stand that lifts the screen, armrests that unload the shoulders, or a footrest that settles the hips. Tick what you want and the discount grows with the set.

Option 1: Point Your Camera

Posture check

Four short steps, every one of them skippable. Shoulders and head, arms at the desk, neck from the side, then the whole setup from the side.

The camera check is optional and it is the part people find most surprising. Sit the way you normally do, let the camera see you for a few seconds, and it reads a handful of posture numbers: shoulder tilt, neck angle, elbow angle at the desk, hip angle, and where your ear sits relative to your shoulder. Each one comes back as a plain reading such as Shoulders level or Head sits forward.

Those numbers sharpen the match. Someone whose head sits forward and who reports neck tension at the end of the day gets different recommendations from someone who sits upright but reports lower-back tiredness after eight hours.

Two things worth knowing. The check runs entirely in your browser, so no photo or video ever leaves your device. And a laptop camera is enough for the first three steps; the last step wants the camera a little further back, and you can skip it if that is awkward.

Option 2: Answer a Few Quick Questions

Questions only

One tap each, about a minute in total. No camera needed.

Skip the camera and the questions work on their own. For a desk setup they are:

  • Where is that desk? At home, in an office, or both
  • What matters most right now? The chair, the whole desk setup, small upgrades, something to wear, or “not sure, guide me”
  • Where do you feel it most at the end of the day? Neck and shoulders, lower back, wrists and hands, hips and tailbone, or nowhere in particular
  • Hours seated on a typical day
  • What you would like to spend, from under $75 to $300 or more

If you pick “not sure, guide me”, the tool does the guiding. That option exists precisely for the person who knows something at their desk is wrong but not what.

Three Paths: Desk, Car, or Your Body

The first question changes everything after it. Each path asks different things and draws on a different part of our range.

Path What it asks What it recommends
At the desk Home, office or both; chair, whole setup or small upgrades; optional camera check Office chairs, kneeling chairs, desk risers, laptop stands, armrests, footrests
In the car What would help on the road; hours behind the wheel; no camera Seat cushions, lower-back supports, neck supports
Posture and body Something to wear, back or neck support, or recovery; optional camera check Posture wearables, braces, supports, massage and recovery tools

What You Get

A Find My Setup result card showing a best-match office chair, three plain reasons and the pieces that complete the setup

Your result

Up to three matches, each with the reason it fits. Real products from our range, in stock now, with their customer ratings shown.

You get a best match and up to two more that also fit, ranked by how well they scored. Under each one are two or three reasons in plain words, such as “supports the lower back while seated” or “built for long days at the desk”. Those are not marketing lines; they are the rules that scored the product, written out.

Then comes the part that saves money. Your best match is shown with the pieces that complete the setup. Tick what you want, add the set to your cart, and a single-use code made for exactly those items is applied at checkout.

Items in your setup Discount on every item
2 items 10%
3 items 15%
4 or more 20%

Your results stay on the page for a few hours, so you can think it over. Change your mind about an answer and “Start over” gives you a fresh set.

What Stays Private

We designed this to need as little as possible.

  • No name, no email, no account. You are never asked for any of them.
  • The camera stays on your device. Posture is read in your browser. No photo or video is uploaded.
  • Only a few numbers are kept. Your answers, the products you were shown, and, if you used the camera, angles such as neck and shoulder tilt, all under a random session id.

Good to Know

Is this medical advice?

No. It is general guidance to help you choose products. If you have ongoing pain, talk to a healthcare professional.

Do I need the camera?

No. The questions work on their own. The camera check adds a few posture numbers that sharpen the match, and every step of it can be skipped.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Both the questions and the camera check run in a normal mobile browser. Prop the phone up so it can see you from the side for the neck step.

How is the discount applied?

When you add your setup to the cart, a single-use code is created for exactly those products and applied at checkout. Two items save 10%, three save 15%, four or more save 20%.

Can I do it more than once?

Yes. Start over as often as you like. Different answers give different matches, which is the point.

Ready When You Are

Two minutes, no sign-up, and an answer instead of forty tabs. If something at your desk, in your car or in your posture has been nagging at you, this is the fastest way we know to find out what would actually help.

General guidance to help you choose products. Not medical advice.
